Academic Programs

ABV-IIITM offers post graduate and integrated post graduate degrees to students in areas of IT (information technology) and management. Integrated Post Graduate 5-year course is a pioneering attempt of this institute, in addition to the usual M.Tech in IT and MBA programs. All study courses in this institute are fully residential and students are required to stay throughout their program except vacations.

Academics in IIITM began with PGDMIT (Post Graduate Diploma in Management and Information Technology) in 1998, followed by PGDIT (Post Graduate Diploma in Information Technology) in 1999, and Ph. D. in 2000. Our 5-year IPG (Integrated Post Graduate) program was also initiated in 2000.

This institute offers doctoral degrees in various fields of IT and management. Apart from these regular study courses, the institute conducts MDP (Management Development Programs) for outsiders from time to time.

Methodology

ABV-IIITM adheres to unique educational and administrative methods which have evolved since its inception. These methods are based on principles and values followed by this institute. Adequate analysis of processes followed in different sections of this institute has contributed to our evolvement of methodologies.

An excellent academic environment prevails in this institute that encourages learning at every level. A more interactive and analytical teaching method is pursued instead of conventional processes. Our teaching methods encourage learners to think and act more proactively and take up even the most challenging assignments with confidence. Not only there are normal teacher-student sessions, we even encourage student-student interactions. Students in this institute not only have the best faculty to guide them in their academic endeavours but also are provided the best infrastructure in forms of latest generation equipments and an all-facility campus.

Academic programmes are not compartmentalised at ABV-IIITM. Here, students pursuing M. Tech are offered lessons in management; while those studying MBA are provided adequate teachings in use and applications of information technology. Student assessment is a continuous process that involves home assignments, classroom tests, laboratory tasks, presentations, projects, and quizzes. The principal idea behind such an approach is to make student self-reliant and confident to face challenging situations. We through our teaching methodology aim at inculcating a spirit of leadership and adaptability among our learners.
